Eritrea Air Force Near Breaking Point?

Dear Ethiopians

First, I would like to commend the skill and bravery of the Ethiopian airforce pilots. Today's successful air raid was impressive, especially as they know that the Eritrean military airfield is ringed with anti-aircraft missiles.

Second, I would like to commend the Ethiopian government for not retaliating in kind for the Barbaric Eritrean action at Mekele yesterday. It would be far, far easier to hit soft civilian targets in Eritrea than the military airport

Concerning the air war, the objective of the airstrikes is to destroy the Eritrean air force and achieve total air supremacy. An airforce needs intensive support, supply, maintenance, and a clear runway in order to keep functioning.

The attacks on the Asmara military hangars, supply depots and tarmac are designed to severely restrict the operational capacity of the Eritrean air force. It appears that the mission is proceeding satisfactorily, as today's secondary explosions at Asmara confirm. These are direct hits on their support facilities.

Here is what Pres. Issayas said today:
"I have not given any instruction for the air force to fly"

WHAT? Reading between the lines, it seems that the Eritrean Air Force is close to being non-operational.

Again, I express my great admiration and thanks to the brave Ethiopian fighter pilots.

Thank You

- Dagmawi
